Friends of mine found a stray cat in the middle of the road on Saturday around 11:30pm. I took her into my care and have been looking after her. We went to the animal emergency room on Sunday and found out she had a badly fractured hip plate from blunt force trauma (likely being hit by a car). They also told me to look out for her using the bathroom, which she still hasn’t done.
A coworker of mine convinced me to bring her to the office today until I could get over to the vet around lunch time.
She’s currently over at my normal vet for observation. They’re trying to empty her colon and bladder as well as running a few tests to see if there’s any blood in there. We want to be sure she still has neurological control over her intestines/bladder.
And just got a call from the vet. She’s doing well, but they want to hold her overnight. They’re going to inject her with anti-inflammatory drugs to see if the swelling goes down so she can regain control of her bowels. They also found round worms, so she’s being treated for that.
Currently up to a total of $277 for the ER visit and $164 or so for the vet care today. I guess helping a kitten out is better than building my 944 Turbo, right?

Last weekend, I also found a stray cat, which was in a very bad shape (down with a severe cold). I live in a smallish town, and I could not find a vet in the weekend. Tried to feed her (wouldn’t eat), but that was not enough. She died on my kitchen floor by Monday. :-(
Probably the vet wouldn’t have been able to save her anyway, but still...

Stray cats seem to make half decent pets for some reason. One just walked up to my cousin one day and just followed him home. He named him Charlie Murphy and it seems like the cat has a personality and will actually appear to try and hold a conversation, especially before eating. Food is already out but the cat just walks over as if to say hey come dine with me.

I always believe in Karma. Where as it can be superstitious, there are those times where it seems to balance itself out quite well.
Hope the kitten gets better and rescues like this one always seem to be the best cats. The one kitten I rescued was basically inseparable from my mom or me (when I was home from the military).

Those cat eyes look like they’re plotting diabolical. Although I also believe scorpions also have eyes that look like they’re plotting diabolical
(the ability to sit perfectly still for hours also enhances the plot factor)
